Biography

Zohreh Shahbazy is an award-winning and published percussionist, vocalist, harmonist, composer, conductor, multi-instrumentalist and, educator based in Iran and Toronto. ohreh has performed orchestral works for thousand of audiences including at Meridian Art enter, Richmond Hill Center for the Art, Small World Music Center, Aga Khan useum, Rumi anada, and many festivals and events all over Canada and Iran. Her upcoming album named “Lasting Love” is award-winning by the Canada Council of Art. Her music has known as “Sufi Music” based on “Daf” which is a traditional percussioninstrument and Kamanche” which is a bowed string instrument.

Zohreh is one of the most popular Iranian Daf players who has born in Tehran-Iran, Then moved to Canada. She started to learn the Daf alongside masters Siamak Azizzade, Bijan Kamkar & Masoud Habibi. Zohreh started learning Kamanche With Morteza Fathi in 2008 and in the course of 2 years attended classes by master Ardeshir Kamkar, and finished Radifs with Hamidreza Khalatbari. She created a Dafbanoo Band in Canada and performed many times beside her collaboration with other artists like dancers all over Toronto.

زهره شهبازیکارشناس رشته هنرهای تجسمی (گرافیک)دف را نزد استاد سیامک عزیززاده فراگرفت و برای شناخت بهتر این ساز دوره های مختلفی را نزد استادان بیژن کامکار و مسعود حبیبی گذراند.همچنین برای درک بهتر فضای موسیقایی ساز کمانچه را نزد استاد مرتضی فتحی و استاد اردشیر کامکار آموزش دید.با عضویت در ارکستر ملی جوانان ایران فعالیتهای متعدد در دنیای موسیقی آغاز شد.تجربه بیش از ۱۲ سال اجراها و کنسرتهای متفاوت و همکاری با گروههای مختلف موسیقی در اقصی نقاط ایران از افتخارات اوست.او پس از ورود به کانادا با گروههای رومی کانادا،جانا،شاهرخ مشکین قلم ،آوای عندلیب ، تیرگانهای ۲۰۱۵ و ۲۰۱۷ و ... همکاری داشته .است
